Excursion Marrakech

MARRAKESH CITY TOUR 09 – 12.30 :

Come with us on a 3 hour roundtrip in Marrakesh.
Marrakesh, has always fascinated people thru the ages. Hiding behind discrete walls you can find beautiful palaces,
Historic monuments, Important art treasures and hidden gems. As we make our way thru the medina you will see monuments and buildings from Marrakech s glorious time; Medersa Ben Youssef (the old Koranic school), Koutoubia-mosque and the Bahia- palace.
Afterwords we will make our way in the old part of Marrakech where you will experience the busy daily life of the locals. The artisans and the abundance of bazars.

MARRAKESH Gardens & Palm oasis 09.00 – 12.30 or 15.00 – 18.30 :

This is the day were you will visit the garden of the late Yves Saint Laurent, Majorelle. Her you will find cactus plants From all over the world. And many more plant spices, a true treat for the eyes. Maybe take a cup of coffee at Cafè Bousafsaf, his Personal collection off Berber jewelry. Then the trip will continue in the country’s most north situated palm oasis
, where you can take a nice tour on camel back. The trip ends with a visit to Musée De La Palmeraie, Morocco s biggest collection of private art.

MARRAKESH SHOPPING 09.00 – 12.30 or 15.00 – 18.30

Many big designers, actors, musicians and interior designers have chosen to make Marrakech their home. That makes the city ”the jet-sets” private paradise. Her you can find textiles, hand- made Berber carpets, heavy African silver wear, shoes, wrought iron, silver and other trademark wears. Many of the artist choose to make their own wears and label, hand- made clothing with Egyptian wool, leather products, natural cosmetics produce with the famous argan oil. Prices are cheap, but you have to learn to bargain. This is really a place where you can shop to you drop!

ESSAOUIRA 09.00 – 17.00

The trip goes to Essaouira, a small city at the Atlantic coast, north of Agadir. Essaouira was once the capital for the purple shells, export to the Roman Empire. Later on Essaouira became the capital for the slave caravans who went from Timbuktu, packed with leather, gold, ostrich feathers and slaves. Early in the 1970, ”The white city”, got a new form of attraction when mainly artists like Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen and Jefferson Airplane lived her for a while in the beginning of the golden period most people know as the Hippie generation. The loved this city because of it’s unique and beautiful ambiance, laid back life and warm weather. The city also has it name written in UNESCO s World Heritage list. Her you can enjoy nice small shops with traditional Moroccan wear, silver jewelry and a very nice harbor perfect for a stroll , and great seafood.

OURIKA VALLEY AND BERBER LIFE 10.00 – 14.30

The beautiful and green Ourika valley, is situated only 40 km away, but still there is a big difference in contrasts with Marrakech big city life. Her lives the original Moroccans also known as Berbers. Visit the local souk and see the way people have lived that last 500 years. Everything is for sale, caftans, silver, old carpets, livestock and fruit and vegetables. Further in the valley you will find small villages built in traditional way with clay, and along the road what used to be small shops are now restaurants with delicious home cooked meals. Lunch in a local Berber home.

OUARZAZATE & AIT BEN HADDOU 08.00 – 18.00

After breakfast in Marrakesh, we make our way up to Tich N’Tichka, the highest point in Morocco with 2260 meters above sea-level. The narrowest part of the mountain goes thru the high Atlas with a fantastic view of the nature. Small Berber villages lies like Jewelry up against the mountain slopes. We will stop and admire the old mosque of Tinmel before we make our way to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, and also a famous site for movie making, like “Lawrence of Arabia”, ”Gladiator” ,”Alexander the Great” and “The jewel of the Nile”. The city is also listed in Unescos list as a world heritage. On our way back to Marrakech we stop at Kasbah Tourirt and take a walk thru Ouarzazate.

COOKING COURSES 10.00 – 14.00

Learn how to cook Moroccan food in Fatima s foot- steps. Here you will learn about Moroccan cuisine, it is also recognized by many as the fourth best kitchen in the world., it is a fine mix between Spanish, Arabic and of course French. Here you learn to mix between sweet, salty and many other tastes that will suit your nose and you appetite, a course not to miss!

BALLON TRIP OVER MARRAKESH 05.00 – 09.45

Early in the morning , before the sun rises, we will mount up in land rovers and drive out in a complete deserted space just out off Marrakech. Her you will experience one hour ballooning with a beautiful landscape with the high Atlas in the background. The trip includes a light breakfast with mint tea, small cakes and traditional Berber bread in a traditional Berber home. Don t forget warm clothes….it is cold early in the morning in Marrakech!

HAMMAM OR ARGAN MASSAGE

There is nothing like awkward in a hammam. In this traditional steam baths you sit as long as you can take until sweat and heat makes you drowsy. At first you will get a good scrub. When all dead skin is gone and you are completely clean. You will enjoy a nice and relaxing massage with argan oil.

QOUAD and BUGGY

Four wheel drive, or ATV is not only a fun machine but it is also a tool to experience Morocco. It is a unique way to see wonderful landscape and get to places we would never be able to go by land-rover . You will be fully equipped, since safety is very important subject when dealing with these machines and off course certified guides and mechanics will be joining on this unforgettable adventure!

TREKKING IN THE ATLAS MOUTAINS

On this trip you will be guided by a certified and English speaking person r and also a cook and mules to carry tents and food. This trek takes us thru streams, rivers, big and fertile valleys deep in the Atlas Mountains, many of these places remain untouched, you will experience great nature the generosity of the local people it actually like an expedition to really get an insight off the real and traditional Morocco.
